This tune was first introduced in Rostov, Russia, and often sung by the Rebbe Rashab before he began his Chassidic discourses. It is one of the more serious Chabad melodies, characterized by its deep feeling and soul searching expression helping the soul free itself from the confines of the body, preparing it to absorb the G-dliness in Torah.
