Just after Hei Teves and in honor of his birthday, Rabbi Shmuel Butler donated a manuscript containing two answers from the Rogatchover Gaon to the Library of Agudas Chasidei Chabad. Rabbi Butler handed the manuscripts over last night to Rabbi Sholom Ber Levine, the library’s chief librarian. The contents of the manuscript, recently purchased from a certified antique dealer, have been copied and printed in the new edition of the Sefer ‘Tzafnas Paniach’ written by the Rogotchover • Photos
An American court has rejected an appeal by the Russian government, upholding a court ruling that Russia must return thousands of books to the Chabad-Lubavitch movement. The thousands books which sit at the heart of the dispute are mainly found in the Lenin Library, in Moscow; and cataloged as the Schneerson Collection • Full Story
Bochurim Eliyahu Ezagui and Bentzion Kuravsky went to Moscow’s Lenin Library, where they said Tehilim, gave Tzedaka and learned Tanya in order to hasten the redemption of the holy seforim from our Rebbeim which are currently in captivity in Russia.
