Despite thousands of local residents fleeing the war-torn country of Ukraine, many families have remained behind, spending Pesach under constant threat of danger. Rabbi Shmuel Kaminetzky, Senior Shliach to Dnipro, Ukraine, conducted the sale of chometz in the city’s Golden Rose synagogue, the city’s thriving Jewish hub, on behalf of Jews both local, as well as refugees who left the city in the wake of Russia’s invasion • Photos
The magnificent Menorah Center, headquarters of Chabad and the Jewish community of Dnipro, Ukraine, known for its exceptional beauty and class, has been transformed into a hub for humanitarian aid, as thousands pack its hallways to receive food packages. Menorah is also home to many local offices and businesses and is considered one of the best commercial spaces in the city, however as life in war torn Ukraine has transformed for the worse, what once were halls filled with business people, shoppers, and tourists from around the globe, are now filled with people in need of vital assistance.
A Jewish wedding took place in Ukraine on Monday night, the 40th day of the war, in the first such simcha since the war began.
