Chabad on the Plaza was vandalized last week with electrical wires damaged, water lines broken, and items torn and strewn everywhere. The ark was found open, though the Torah was still inside. The space was deemed completely unusable. According to the Kansas City Police Department, on Nov. 30 at around 1:15 a.m., a caller reported a prowler around the building. A Shliach found a bag outside his home on Friday morning containing a gun, a threatening note, and identity cards issued in a hostile country. “Local police forces arrived at the scene after a long wait and launched an investigation of the incident which is still ongoing. A month before his Yartzeit, a new Chabad House has been completed in a neighborhood in Paris, France in memory of the Shliach Rabbi Messod Touboul, OB”M who directed a number of Lubavitch schools in the area and tragically was one of the first Shluchim to pass away from Covid-19 on Chof Hei Adar, 5780.
