The Rebbe had conditions for being mesader kedushin, including that the kallah will commit to wear a sheitel and (if I’m not mistaken) that the chosson will not touch his beard.
Maybe this chosson made a hachlota tova to not touch his beard after the chupah?
IF the rebbe takeh was mesader kidushin, then there would be something to what you are saying, but he wasn’t, and if you don’t have something nice to say, keep quiet!
