It was a night to remember this past Wednesday, when the energetic temimim of kvutzah 5782 brought their mekuravim from weekly Friday mivtzoim for an enjoyable and uplifting evening in the Rebbe’s daled amos.
A massive stage was set up on the southern wall of 770’s large shul, as the benches were cleared to make way for round tables, soon to be decorated with proper tablecloths, dishes and centerpieces. In a few hours, with the help of a dedicated team of bochurim, the shul transformed into a dazzling event hall.
The hundreds of mekuravim, mostly Hebrew speakers, who work in many locations around the New York metro area, eagerly await their bochurim every Friday for a quick spiritual boost. In honor of of Yud Aleph Nissan – 120 their weekly visitors were finally able to bring them to the source, 770, from which the wellsprings pour forth not only to the metro area, but to the whole world.
The banquet guests began filing into 770 where they were greeted by their bochurim, subsequently sitting down for a multi-course meal. The crowd enjoyed musical performances, inspiring speakers, and a play performed by young boys. They also received inspiration directly from the Rebbe MH”M, watching videos on the large screen in the middle of the room.
The event closed off with gratitude for the organizers and a special gift, a dollar from the Rebbe’s holy hand for two generous supporters.
As the banquet’s end, after several minutes of joyful dancing, the lights turned on and 770 was transformed back to its original self, the Rebbe’s holy shul, as the hundreds gathered davened Maariv with the Rebbe’s minyan.
