“It was a terrifying moment, several hours of fear,” hostel owner Sergio Polak told the local media. “They shouted, ‘Go, (inappropriate word) Jews, you (inappropriate word) Jews are robbing us’ in the Patagonia region.” He also said the attackers threw stones and Molotov cocktails, and shot guns at the site,
The hostel usually houses guests from Israel and tries to attract them through a Hebrew-language Facebook page.
Posters calling for Israeli tourists to be boycotted appeared recently in a nearby town.
About 300,000 Jews live in Argentina, the largest Jewish community in Latin America.
