As reported on here, there will be a June 22 primary election to determine which candidate for mayor will run on each party’s ticket in the November general election. If you wish to vote in that primary, you must be registered before this Shabbos.
As the winner of the Democratic Party primary is expected to almost certainly win the general election in November, whoever wants to actually be part of selecting the next mayor should register with the Democratic party and then vote in their primary. In the November general election you will still be able to vote for any candidate you wish regardless of the party you’re registered with.
