It is never too late to celebrate a bar mitzvah.
This week at the Chabad House in Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, under the auspices of Rabbi Dovid and Chani Atar, two Jews, one in his thirties, and the other 67 years old, celebrated their bar mitzvah.
Their excitement was palpable as the two Jews met the Shliach for the first time. The two were previously not aware of the Chabad House before.
When Rabbi Atar offered them to come and don Tefillin the next morning, the two were apprehensive, simply because they never did it before…
In addition to that, the 30 year old Jew needed to be up early in the morning to travel across the border to Costa Rica. But Rabbi Atar was not fazed, he invited the pair to the Chabad House at 5:30 the next morning. Low and behold, the pair actually showed up!
The moment was magical as the two celebrated their bar mitzvah that morning.
Yet another heartwarming story of the Rebbe MH”M touching Jewish souls even in the farthest off places.
