New Shluchim Head to Vienna as Lockdown Lifts

Rabbi Mendy Weinfeld, together with his wife Sari will be heading to Vienna to open a first of its kind Chabad house in the historical Austrian city. The couple, which currently resides in Ashkelon, Isralel, will serve the city’s Hebrew speaking local community, as well as thousands of Israeli tourists that visit the city every year.
This week, the COVID lockdown in Austria was lifted, allowing hotels and restaurants to reopen.
The Shluchim were appointed, and will be working together with Rabbi Mordechay and Mussia Segel, longtime Shluchim to the city and directors of Vienna’s Chabad Haus.
Chabad-Lubavitch of Austria is directed by venerated Senior Shliach Rabbi Avraham Biderman.
