Rabbi and Mrs. Levi Pinson have recently moved to the small island of Corsica, an island in the Mediterranean Sea belonging to France, to open up a new Chabad House.
“The focus of the Chabad House is primarily going to be on helping the local Jews”, says Rabbi Pinson. “In the summer months, the Island gets tens of thousands of tourists from France and other surrounding countries, and our mission is to cater to all their Jewish needs.”
Rabbi Yossef Pinson, Shliach of Nice-Côte d’Azur, has been visiting Corsica periodically for over forty years. Over these years, he would also commonly send students there, around the holidays and throughout the summer months to help the Jewish locals and visitors.
Two month ago, Rabbi Yossef Pinson came to Corsica, for the opening of the new Chabad center where the activities will largely take place. Since the opening, Rabbi and Mrs. Levi Pinson have dedicated themselves to accommodating the thousands of tourists alongside the local community; by providing kosher food, putting up Mezuzah’s and assisting them with any necessary Jewish needs.
