With great pomp, Shluchim in Alaska celebrated the completion and inauguration of a new Sefer Torah, generously donated to the Chabad House in Anchorage, the state’s largest city.
Under the directorship of Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok and Mrs. Esther Greenberg, together with Rabbi Levi and Mrs. Chaya Mushka Giltzenshtein, the Anchorage Chabad House received the generous gift from benefactors Mr. Avi and Mrs. Deborah Nieder, who reside in Florida but call Alaska their home every summer, eventually becoming regulars in the city’s community.
Present at the event were hundreds of people, among them dignitaries such as Alaska Senator Dan Sullivan.
