Chabad of Moldova Renovating Historic Shul
Since 1989, Chabad of Moldova has maintained the shul and created a vibrant Jewish community that was almost destroyed under communist oppression. The Kishinev Shul remains the hub of Jewish activity and connection throughout the country. The Shul is currently undergoing renovations. The Kishinev Shul is the cultural and spiritual home of the Jews of Moldova. Other than a brief interruption when the Nazis destroyed the shul (which the Jewish community immediately rebuilt after the war), the Kishinev Shul has been the center of Jewish life in Moldova for over 130 years.
Since 1989, Chabad of Moldova has maintained the shul and created a vibrant Jewish community that was almost destroyed under communist oppression. In addition to providing a spiritual home for the community, we have provided vital humanitarian support and hot Kosher meals to the impoverished community. The Kishinev Shul remains the hub of Jewish activity and connection throughout the country.
