Berdychiv Shul Starting Renovations
Extensive renovation work began yesterday at the ancient synagogue of Berdychiv in Ukraine, after it was slated for demolition. The donation for the renovation in the amount of one million dollars, given by an American Jew, was obtained by the city’s rabbi and Shliach Moshe Taler together with the Shliach and chairman of the “Federation of Jewish Communities in Ukraine” Rabbi Meir Stambler • Full Article, Photos
Extensive renovation work began yesterday at the ancient Berdychov High School in Ukraine, after it was slated for demolition.
The donation for the renovation in the amount of one million dollars, given by an American Jew, was obtained by the city’s rabbi and Shliach Moshe Taler together with the Shliach and chairman of the “Federation of Jewish Communities in Ukraine” Rabbi Meir Stambler.
Rabbi Shneor Deitch, who is responsible for the holy places on behalf of the federation: “In a few months, the renovated building will contain a magnificent synagogue, a mikveh for men and a kitchen and dining room for the benefit of the community and guests.”
