In a short four days, thousands of Shluchim will be pouring into Crown Heights for the annual Kinus Hashluchim Haolami.

As many may rememeber, only 150 Shluchim arrived last year to mark the Kinus in person. Thousands of others were forced to remain in their places of shlichus and participate virtually due to the current circumstances of pandemic restrictions around the world.

This year, however, many are planning to return, albeit in lesser numbers than previous years, due to travel-related challenges.

The Vaad Hakinus was challenged with planning this year’s events according to the circumstances on the ground, and only once registration officially began did they begin to understand what they were working with. Ultimately they have prepared a packed schedule of sessions, and ultimately the grand banquet, where Shluchim can participate in, whether they are physically present or not.

So what can Shluchim expect this Kinus?

As per longstanding tradition, the Kinus will officially kick off by the Shabbos farbrengen of the Rebbe MH”M on Shabbos Parshas Chayei Sarah at 1:30 PM.

The Kinus schedule will kick off Wednesday, 21 Cheshvan, with the opening of registration in Eshel Hospitality Center. Shluchim who registered early will go through an expedited registration process. Ultimately all will receive their Kinus tags, allowing them to participate in the events throughout the Kinus.

Thursday will be a day filled with workshops, which will focus on the 30th anniversary of the famous Sicha of Kinus Hashluchim 5752, where the Rebbe MH”M informed us about how shlichus as we know it has changed, and that the only shlichus remaining is to prepare for the imminent arrival of Moshiach.

Shluchim will be presented with a variety of workshops, many of them revolving around the theme of the sicha, as well as a variety of workshops focusing on the practical aspects of shlichus, such as fundraising and social media.

All workshops will be broadcast live on the Kinus website, allowing those who cannot be physically present to participate.

The climax of every Kinus is the grand banquet. Year in and year out, shluchim and guests are treated to inspiring words and high class food. This year’s banquet will take place on Sunday, 25 Cheshvan, at 12:00 EST, so that Shluchim around the world will be able to tune in virtually at a reasonable hour of the day.

ChabadInfo.com has been informed that the banquet will be taking place in a special tent which will be erected specially for the event.

As every year, ChabadInfo.com’s staff of writers and photographers will be working tirelessly to publicize the events of the Kinus in real time. Sunday’s banquet will be broadcasted live here as well.
