    Police: Man fatally shot steps away from Crown Heights home

    Emergency responders found a man with gunshot wounds to the face on Empire Boulevard in Crown Heights on Monday morning and pronounced him dead • Full Story

    Emergency responders found a man with gunshot wounds to the face on Empire Boulevard in Crown Heights on Monday morning and pronounced him dead.

    According to witnesses, the man was discovered unconscious on the front steps of the home at 568 Empire Boulevard between Kingston and Brooklyn Avenues at approximately 10:00 am this morning.

    witnesses said that the assassin ambushed the landlord and shot him to death as soon as he stepped on the doorstep of the house on his way down the stairs.

    The police and EMS arrived to find the man already deceased from a gunshot wound, and immediately closed off the area with crime scene tape.

    The home is a well known trouble location in the area, with drugs and other illegal things a regular occurrence.

    During the investigation, police called in ESU for a possible barricaded person inside the home, further blocking off Empire Blvd.

    The assistance of Chesed Shel Emes was not needed.

    No arrests have been made. Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
