Earlier today, Tuesday, a filming crew set up a fictional crime scene outside of Oholei Torah’s elementary schools on Eastern Parkway. One young student viewing the staged area through his classroom window fainted due to the graphically ugly nature of the scene
The staged scene included what appeared to be a lifeless victim laying on the ground, drenched in a surrounding pool of blood.
The TV filming crew have secured the appropriate permits from the city, and worked with the NYPD, which cordoned off the area to vehicles and pedestrians.
Some have questioned the propriety of staging this event outside of Crown Heights’s largest children’s school, both from the graphic imagery of the scene, and the religious and moral aspects involved, including exposing the children to TV and entertainment culture.
Reports now coming out of Oholei Torah confirm these objections. A source in Oholei Torah with firsthand knowledge of the episode reports that one young student viewing the staged area through his classroom window fainted due to the graphically ugly nature of the scene. It’s unclear whether the child thought the pool of blood and lifeless body were real or fictional.

Obviously very insensitive to make this movie I/F/O a school. But that’s our society. Sue them…that’s all they understand $$$.
The school and the parents should each get a lawyer and sue the film production separately.
