We regret to inform you of the passing of Rabbi Meir Aharon, a venerated Chabad posek in Eretz Yisroel and head of Beis Medrash L’Halacha U’Mishpat in Rechovot on Friday, 15 Kislev.
He was 70 years old.
Rabbi Aharon was born on 8 Teves 5711. He travelled to the Rebbe MH”M for the first time in 5729, subsequently spending the next few years learning in Tomchei Temimim – 770.
Rabbi Aharon sent a gift of his personal chiddushim on Hilchos Sukka in the Alter Rebbe’s Shulchan Aruch to the Rebbe on the occasion of his 75th birthday. Unbeknownst to him, the Rebbe requested that they be published in Kovetz Yagdil Torah.
In addition to heading the Beis Medrash L’Halacha U’Mishpat, he also served as Rov of the Yad Lashavim shul in Rechovot and was a member of hanhala of the local Tomchei Temimim Yeshiva.
He is survived by his wife Dina, and their 12 children.
