We regret to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Lea Slavin, matriarch of a large Chabad family, with many offspring, children and grandchildren, on Shlichus. Mrs. Slavin is wife of 770’s baal korah Rabbi Michoel Slavin.
She was 70 years old.
She passed away on Friday, Shvi’i Shel Pesach.
Born to Shia and Frieda Korik in 1952, Mrs. Slavin was raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil following the family’s move from Paris, France.
After marrying her husband yblch”t Michoel Slavin, the couple settled in Crown Heights where they raised a large Chabadfamily. For decades the Slavin home remained a hub for visitors in Crown Heights, only steps away from 770 Eastern Parkway. Guests of all types, statures, and ages were made to feel comfortable in the Slavins’ home.
She is survived by her husband Michoel, and children: Yosef Slavin (Caracas), Dina Blum (Ottawa), Chany Rapaport (Clarks Summit), Yitzchok Slavin (Mississauga), Mendel Slavin (San Clemente) Dvory Deitsch (Toronto), Isser Slavin (Montreal), Shterny Bendet (Crown Heights), Miriam Kleinman (Crown Heights), Mordechai Slavin (Crown Heights), Zevi Slavin (Atlanta), and Berel Slavin (Dallas) and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings.
The Levayah will take place today, and will be passing 770 at approximately 2:00pm. Shiva will be in her home, 754 Eastern Parkway until Friday morning.
