Genia Morosow, a beloved mother of Crown Heights, who also served as a sheitel macher in the community passed away on Wednesday the 29th of Adar 1, 5782 following an extended illness.
She was 59 years old and suffered from a terrible illness.
Genia Marosow (nee Hilel) is originally from Lod, Israel, and later came to Crown Heights to study at Bais Rivkah girls school, and has lived here for many years since.
She owned a private salon called Genias, and work there for many years, helping married women and newlywed kallahs to cover their hair according to halacha and with beauty.
She is survived by her husband Rabbi Mendel Marosow and their children Chony Marosow and Chana Marosow.
She is also survived by her mother Mrs. Tamar Hilel, and siblings Mendel Hilel – Montreal, Canada; Rochi Leverton-Rotenstreich – Crown Heights; Saadi Hilel – Hollywood, Florida; and Sarit Vogel – London, England.
The family requests that her mother, Mrs. Hilel, not be notified.
The levaya will be held on Thursday, leaving Shomrei Hadas Chapels at 11:00 AM and passing by 770 at 12:00 PM.
The family will be sitting shiva at 762 Empire Blvd (corner of Troy Ave) #5F.
