100 people packed Eastwood House this past Monday to celebrate the 90th birthday of HM the Queen.
Chairman for the afternoon was close friend Dr Steven Kayne who gave snippets of information about the Queen and the royal family and chaired proceedings so well.
Toast and prayer to the queen was given by Dr Bernard Groden. Lady Clarice Goldberg described her visit to Buckingham Palace when her late husband Professor Sir Abe Goldberg was knighted in 1983.
Prominent guests in attendance included Vice Lieutenant of Renfrewshire Mrs Susie Stewart, Provost of Eastwood AlIistair Carmichael and Mrs Carmichael, Immediate past president of the Glasgow Jewish Rep Council Paul Morron.
The Lubavitch Chessed Award and a Silver kiddish cup-becher was presented to Paul in recognition of outstanding community leadership.
Flowers were presented to Mrs Susie Stewart, Mrs Carmichael and Sorelle Kayne. a recently published book ‘The Secret of Chabad’ was presented to Steven Kayne.
The Tea was organised by Lubavitch co director Sora Jacobs.
The afternoon concluded with a showing of the Queen and the singing of National Anthem.
