With Hashem’s help Pesach Seder in Tokyo was a great success. People came from all over Japan, as well as tourists from Europe, USA and Israel. Many families who live in Japan joined together as a yearly tradition. There were over 220 guests for the first seder. A lot of logistics and planning were a crucial part of the success.
We were lucky to have this year six Yeshiva students to help with Passover preparations and Seders. They were extremely devoted, helpful, efficient and brought a lot of great chassidic energy! Special thanks to Efraim Hadad, David Zaoui, Levi Yitschak Bittoun, and Israel Levy for their great help.
Our gratitude and appreciation to Rabbi Edery who oversaw and worked through the whole Pesach project from beginning (fundraising) to the end – leading the Pesach seders with such joy and enthusiasm, making the guests feel that everyone was family. All the guests expressed their utmost admiration and said this was the most memorable and joyful Pesach they ever experienced.

With Hashem’s help, Chabad Kyoto with Chabad of Japan organized the first Seder in Kyoto ever. It was an incredible success, reaching nearly a hundred people the first night and fifty people for the second seder.
There were people from France, U.S., Mexico, Israel and some other countries, and in Japan from Gifu, Kobe, Okinawa and of course Kyoto. The Seder in Kyoto required very careful planning and organization such as preparation and transportation of food for both seders, sending helpers to lead the Seder and collecting funds to fuel all of this. The guests were extremely moved and said this was the best Seder in their whole life!
We would like to thank Mr. Eyal Agmoni for his generosity for taking on himself to finance this great endeavor. May Hashem bless him with all the blessings of the Torah in the most revealed way.
We are most grateful to Chika Okuwa san, a Kyoto native herself, who was our representative in Kyoto and was in charge to oversee all the issues in Kyoto itself, such as organizing an appropriate hall, being in touch with the guests and helping them out, thinking through and arranging all necessary things for the seder down to the last details.
