A special honor was presented this week to Chabad brothers Mendy and Shaya Setton, owners of several successful kosher restaurants in Rockland County, New York.

The brothers received the Empire Award, presented by New York State Senator Bill Weber, in recognition of their business achievements, contribution to the local economy and involvement in the Jewish community.

The Setton are the owners of The Diner, an American-style kosher restaurant that opened this year in Pomona, as well as the Pies n’ Fries chain, which operates two locations in the Rockland area and has become a familiar name in the local kosher food scene.

Upon receiving the award, the brothers expressed their appreciation and dedicated the honor to their employees and customers.

“We love this community and are happy to continue serving it for many years to come,” they said.

The award recognizes the brothers’ continued investment in the kosher food industry and their contribution to the growing Jewish community in Rockland County.
