Preparations are in full swing in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan, as the city gets ready to welcome thousands of Chassidim from around the world to the holy resting place of Reb Levi Yitzchak Schneerson, the Rebbe’s father, in honor of Chof Menachem Av.
Among those expected to arrive are hundreds of Chassidim from Eretz Yisroel, many of whom will travel on a special charter flight organized specifically for the occasion.
In preparation for the large crowds, massive new hospitality tents have been erected adjacent to the Ohel. The tents, specially purchased and brought to the site in recent days, are designed to accommodate the thousands of visitors and have been adorned with large displays featuring quotes from the Rebbeim about Reb Levi Yitzchak.
Over the coming days, the site will host tefillos, Torah classes, and special farbrengens focusing on the life, Torah teachings, and legacy of Reb Levi Yitzchak.
Special appreciation has been expressed to the Chassidic philanthropist R’ Avi Shaulzon, who in recent years has spearheaded, funded, and overseen the extensive hospitality and logistical preparations surrounding Chof Menachem Av. A big thank you to the Rebbe’s Shluchim in Kazakhstan—Rabbi Yeshaya Cohen and Rabbi Elchonon Cohen—for their tireless efforts in ensuring the success of the event and welcoming the thousands of guests.
