Speaking with Yaakov Grodka on Kol Barama Radio’s Hamahadura Hamerkazit, Rabbi Arnfeld shared insights into his shlichus in the coastal city of Budva, which has become a destination for tourists from around the world and a growing center of Jewish activity.

While the local Jewish community is relatively small, Rabbi Arnfeld explained that hundreds of Jews now reside throughout Montenegro, many of them immigrants from the former Soviet Union as well as Jews from various European countries who have chosen to settle in the peaceful Mediterranean nation.

Reflecting on the impact of the Chabad House, Rabbi Arnfeld described the transformative effect that even a single encounter with Yiddishkeit can have on a person and an entire family.

“People leave our events completely different,” he said. “We see it every week. Someone opens a siddur, lights Shabbos candles, participates in a Shabbos meal. The impact is tremendous. Children who grow up in such a home will grow up as Torah-observant Jews.”

Rabbi Arnfeld also spoke candidly about the challenges of shlichus far from established Jewish centers, emphasizing that a shliach’s strength comes from knowing that he is carrying out the Rebbe’s mission.

“We are not here simply because we want to be,” he said. “We are shluchim. There are moments of mesirus nefesh and moments of difficulty, but we know this is part of the shlichus, and we continue forward with the Rebbe’s brachah.”

His remarks offered listeners a glimpse into the dedication and sacrifice of the Rebbe’s shluchim around the world, who continue to strengthen Torah and Yiddishkeit in every corner of the globe and bring countless Jews closer to Hashem.
