MK Abed Afeef, a representative of Israel’s Druze community from the Likud party, recently received a Chitas and a tzedakah box at his request from his longtime friend, Rabbi Menachem Michalashvili, shliach of the Rebbe and director of Chabad of Lod.
The presentation followed Afeef’s participation in a visit to the Rebbe in New York as part of a delegation of Israeli government and Knesset officials attending the pro-Israel solidarity march earlier this week.
According to those involved, Afeef expressed interest in receiving the Chitas and tzedakah box following the meaningful visit. Rabbi Michalashvili was pleased to fulfill the request upon his return to Israel.
This highlights the continued reach of the Rebbe and the work of the shluchim among diverse sectors of Israeli society.
