Zvirgzdeh, a graduate of the Chabad Or Avner Jewish school in Odessa, was buried beside his grandmother in the city’s Jewish cemetery. He had maintained a close connection with the Jewish community throughout his life.
“Tzvi Hirsch will always be remembered as a brave fighter, a kind soul, and a beloved alumnus of our institutions,” said Rabbi Avraham Wolff, Shliach of The Rebbe and Chief Rabbi of Odessa and southern Ukraine. “His loss is deeply felt by his family, community, and nation. May his memory be a blessing.”
