Rabbi Meir Mazuz, the spiritual leader of the Yachad party, sent a letter to prominent Chabad rabbonim clarifying that he has not been and is not against Chabad as is being alleged by some. Rabbi Mazuz adds that to the contrary, that any time the Lubavitcher Rebbe came under attack, he came to his defense for he never opposed the rebbe or his hashkafa.
In addition, Rabbi Mazuz denies statements being released purportedly quoting his piskei halacha that he is lenient in matters of giyur. Rabbi Mazuz stresses that one wishing to convert to Judaism may only do so if one accepts a life of compliance with Torah and Mitzvos and any statement made in his name to the contrary does not reflect his piskei halacha.
