We regret to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Chana Fradil Boymelgreen, a Holocaust survivor and matriarch of a large Chabad family.
She was 97 years old.
She passed away on Sunday night, 3 Nissan 5782.
Mrs. Boymelgreen was born in 5685 in Lodz, Poland into a prominent family of Alexander Chassidim. Following the Nazi invasion, her entire family was transported to the Auschwitz death camp, where they were all murdered. She and her sister were the only members of their family who survived.
After liberation, she married R’ Mordechai Boymelgreen, another holocaust survivor. The couple moved to Petach Tikvah in Israel, where they were founding members of the Chabad Shul.
She is survived by her children, R’ Levi Yitzchok Boymelgreen, R’ Shaya Boymelgreen, and Mrs. Rachel Chitrik.
The levaya will take place today, leaving Shomrei Hadas at 11:30 am and passing by 770 at 12:30 pm. The aron will be transported to Eretz Yisroel for burial on Har Hamenuchos.
