One of the first Chanukah events took place in Melbourne, Australia at Parliament House in Victoria, organized by Chabad of Melbourne CBD.
The annual Menorah Lighting and Cocktail Party, was attended by some of the most well known Rabbi’s and Politicians in Melbourne, Mr. Graham Smorgan acted as Master of Ceremony, Following him was the newly elected Premier of Victoria Premeir Daniel Andrews, Followed by Rabbi Chaim Herzog, the Shliach of Chabad of Melbourne CBD lighting the Menorah together with Mr. Smorgan and the Central Shule Choir,singing Hannanos Hallo.
Rabbi Genede the Spiritual Leader of Caulfield Hebrew congregation followed, with Rabbi Joseph Gutnick Spiritual Leader of Caulfied Chabad House followed by the Leader of the Opposition, Matthew Guy was followed again with the Central Shul Choir singing Chanukah songs. Followed Chazzan Dov Farkas.
The culmination was a Cocktail Party which was enjoyed by the large crowd in attendance.
