The Ladies’ Rosh Chodesh group of Baltimore celebrated Yud Tes Kislev on Sunday, the 18^th of Kislev, November 29 with a delicious seudah and a Skype session with the renowned educator and mashpia, Mrs. Tsyrl Turen. Mrs. Turen is a native of Baltimore, having grown up here and gone to the local Bais Yaakov School.

Her talk was entitled “Era of Moshiach – Feminine Era – Please Explain”. She spoke about the need for Galus to be the time when G-d’s male quality to be dominant because the nature of man is to conquer and through conquest the world is purified and the world becomes a home for G-d. By the age of Moshiach G-d’s feminine quality, malchus, will be dominant, which is essentially a non-quality which serves to receive those qualities which are higher than it in order to elicit a greater manifestation of light. She encouraged the women to recognize the G-dliness within themselves and to seek out the G-dliness in others and to nurture the good.

The women that attended were primarily non-Lubavitchers having little or no background in Chassidus. Some were hearing Chassidus for the first time and were spellbound.

Following her talk there was a question and answer period and among the questions that Mrs. Turen answered were how does one respond to the situation in Eretz Yisrael. She repeated the Rebbe’s words that Eretz Yisrael is the safest place on earth and that we must not give in to fear. She spoke about the concept (brought in Tanya) of designating the reward of one’s performance of a mitzvah to the Jews in Eretz Yisrael or even the entire Jewish people.
