Shabbos Vo’eschanan -Nachamu at the Alma Ata Levi Yitzchak Synagague was high energy.
From the moment the students arrived with Chassidic song and dance at the Alma Ata airport, to the group photo and community reception, the students are successfully injecting a spirited happy atmosphere in Alma Ata.
The students are led by Rabbi Shmaryohu Butman and Rabbi Menechem Mendel Kirsh. The Rabbis have meticulously prepared a detailed schedule for the ten days the students will be in Alma Ata.
After the morning prayers and each student reciting the “Hagomel” blessing, the students went to the holy Ohel of the Rebbe’s father. The emotional visit, the singing of the Nigunim of the Rabeiyim and the Hakofos Nigun of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak, were moments which will remain etched in the heart and soul of all participants.
The Rosh Yeshiva of Chabad Lubavitch school of Alma Ata, Rabbi Mordechei Cohen gave the students an inspirational taste of the depth of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak’s Torah teachings.
Thursday evening the students participated in the Bar Mitzvah celebration of the young Shliach Chaim Cohen. The student’s spirited dancing inspired the large crowd of guest who joined in the Bar Mitzvah celebration.
The Chabad rabbi of Beitar Ilit Israel, the esteemed Rabbi Asher Lemil Cohen, the grandfather of the Bar Mitzvah, is a special gift of inspiration for the students. His Chassidic Farbrengen’s are uplifting and filled with depth and Chassidic warmth.
Philanthropists Avi Shaulson and Shmuli Stern have generously sponsored and expanded the large group of students. The students are enthusiastically preparing for the holy day of Chof Av. From Torah study to helping the local Shluchim with community-wide programs and events. On Chof Av the students will have rotating shifts of Tehillim around the clock at the Ohel of the Rebbe’s father.
