The preparations for this milestone are being taken to a new practical level with the initiative to collectively learn all of the Rebbe’s Torah, in light of the Rebbe’s words in Hayom Yom that there is no greater way to connect with the Rebbe than through studying his teachings.
During the farbrengen of Purim 5732 (1972), the Rebbe commented regarding his 70 birthday which was approaching a few weeks later. “One generally doesn’t request a specific gift, however, those who wish to bring me nachas ruach (happiness, satisfaction) should make sure to add in Torah study!” (Sichos Kodesh 5732:1, p. 539)
In accordance with this precedent, the Central Lubavitch Youth Organization, Tzeirei Agudas Chabad Hamerkazis, has launched a state-of-the-art website YudShvat70.com, where you can conveniently choose a section of the Rebbe’s Torah as part of a collective study that will cover the entire corpus of the Rebbe’s printed Torah, including Likutei Sichos, Maamarim, Sichos Kodesh, Hisvaaduyos, Igros Kodesh, and more.
Once you register and choose a section, you will receive three email reminders on the auspicious dates of 5 Teves, 24 Teves, and Rosh Chodesh Shvat. The registration of each person
is crucial as it gives powerful encouragement for more and more individuals to join.
“Besides being the strongest way of preparation for the great day of the Rebbe’s 70 the Anniversary of Nesius, this has the threefold advantage of combining Torah study, Unity, and a special gift for the Rebbe,” said Rabbi Shmuel Butman, Director of Lubavitch Youth Organization.
We hope and trust that even before Yud Shvat we will merit the true and complete redemption, and we will celebrate the 70-year jubilee together with the Rebbe in the holy city of
Yerushalayim.
