Chabad of Springfield, Illinois directed by Rabbi Mendy and Mrs. Sara Turen, hosted a beautiful ‘Soup in the Sukkah’ event in the large Sukkah built especially for the event.
The state capital’s Jewish community enjoyed an array of delicious soups, Kugels, pies and breads accompanied by a refreshing drink bar.
Rabbi Turen also addressed the crowd on the significance of the holiday of Sukkos, its special practices and its connection with the coming of Moshiach. Many Jews had the opportunity to shake the Lulav and Esrog, several for their first time ever.
Chabad of Springfield thanks Dr. Cary Israel and Mr. Daniel Rappaport for sponsoring and Steve Rambach for the great pictures.
