On Sunday, 27 Sivan, Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimim of Queens held an extraordinary event, of a Siyum on Bava Kama and a Moshiach Chidon.

The event honored over 20 Talmidim who completed the entire Mesechta Bava Kama by heart, as well as many others who learned large portion of it by heart. They were each acknowledged and rewarded for their studious work throughout the year.

The event was also a Chidon on Moshiach topic, which over the past two months, the Talmidim have been meticulously preparing for. Following a unique curriculum especially created for this event, the bachorim mastered the Rebbe’s explanations on Hilchos Melech HaMoshiach of the Rambam.

After the intense learning and testing period, twelve Bochurim with the highest grades became the contestants in the Moshiach Chidon.

The contestants immediately began rigorously studying in preparation for the chidon. The bochurim went all out, helping each other learn, sharing notes, practicing together, encouraging and cheering each other on.

When the day of the Moshiach Chidon finally arrived, excitement was running high.

As the Chidon proceeded, it was clear that all the contestants were BH thoroughly prepared and knew the material perfectly! The judges had a tough job narrowing it down to three finalists.

Before announcing the winners, Rabbi Mendel Scharf, Menahel of the Yeshiva, thanked the Shluchim for their tireless work into making the event the huge success that it was.

1st place winner – Hatomim Shneur Zalman Pevzner, won a dollar from the Rebbe.

2nd place – Hatomim Shmuel Broin, won $150 worth of Seforim.

3rd place – Hatomim Berke Hendel, won $100 worth of Seforim.

The other 9 contestants were: Hatmimim Sholom Ber Turk, Mendel Shpindler, Hillel Levinson, Shmuel Volovik, Chaim Yehoshua Reizes, Sholom Ber Borovitz, Yaakov Rodal, Yosef Hendel, Mendel Heidingsfeld.

Surely this project of learning Inyonei Moshiach and Geula brought the Rebbe tremendous nachas, helping to make the rebbes words of a “straight, easy and quick path to bring the revelation of Moshiach”, come to fruition.
