What motivates the average individual to sacrifice their time, and money for a cause? What do I learn from the dedicated people willing to rise above their personal concerns, so I too can join their Spiritual Activism?

ChabadLife.tv presents Pragmatism, Politics, and Protest – A Post Gimmel Tammuz Perspective, an intriguing symposium on the spirit of activism in the post Gimmel Tammuz era.

3 Speakers will present their personal journey why and when they decided to give of themselves, forgo pragmatism and set out to “ker a velt”, turn over a world.

Rosh Lowe is an award winning TV reporter at Channel 7 News in Miami, Florida. He is a recipient of an Associated Press Award and also a Best News Story of the Year Award from Emmis Communications.

Covering the diverse Miami area Mr. Lowe encounters the spectrum of human joy, misery, tragedy, crime, and corruption. He brings to life and embraces the Rebbe’s call that every action matters. “One positive action changes the world”. Mr. Lowe is a spell binding speaker.  He paints a vivid picture of working the streets of Miami and remaining spiritually confident and upbeat despite facing daily, the scenes of tragedy, corruption, and the joys of the human experience. How do you remain positive in the face of corruption?

Mark Banschick, M.D., is a psychiatrist and child advocate. He is the author of The Intelligent Divorce book series and creator of The Online Family Stabilization Course, geared to taking care of the needs of children and parents during divorce. His work has been featured in The New York Times, The Huffington Post, and Politico, as well as on CBS News.

Dr. Banschick has recently begun to lead a national effort against anti-Semitism on Universities and Colleges. He will challenge the Chabad audience when he explains The Psychology of Jewish Pride and Political Protest and the Art of Commitment.

Attorney David Yerushalmi, often described as a political activist and one of the leaders of the “anti-sharia movement”, is co-founder and Senior Counsel of the American Freedom Law Center, a national public interest law firm, and General Counsel to the Center for Security Policy, a prominent D.C.-based national security think tank. His controversial clients are internationally scorned by the left and championed by the right (he has represented Ms. Pam Geller, the well-known, controversial activist who herself literally has placed her life on the line for the cause she believes in).

Agree with him or not, Mr. Yerushalmi cherishes freedom enough to place his life on the line for freedoms many take for granted.
