The administration of United Lubavitch Yeshiva has all but finalized an agreement with Iggud Talmidei Hakvutza to sell the iconic dormitory on 749 Eastern Parkway. The Iggud was founded in recent years by local businessmen who aimed to improve the conditions for bochurim spending a year learning by the Rebbe MH”M for kvutzah. Seven years ago, the lone Chabad rabbi in Taiwan reached out to Jeffrey Schwartz, a Jewish businessman and philanthropist who had helped fund the country’s small Jewish institutions for years.
