Shabbos morning, before Shachris. Yankel is standing by the bookshelf, pulling out sefer after sefer.
“Yud Alef… nothing for this parsha. Yud Beis… nothing. Yud Gimel… too long and difficult. Yud Dalet… nothing…”

Fifteen minutes later, he emerges victorious with a perfect Maamar. But just as he sits down to immerse himself in learning… Shachris begins.

Sounds like a familiar scenario? Well, not anymore. Over the course of the last year, new volumes of the Rebbe Shlita MH”M’s Maamorim have been released, arranged by order of Parshah. Want to find a Maamar for Parshas Beshalach? Just open the newly-released “Sefer Hamaamorim Shmois” vol. 2. Parshas Shmini? Try “Sefer Hamaamorim Vayikra” (released last year).

As of now, nine volumes have been released (the latest, Sefer Hamaamorim Shmois vol. 2 is due to arrive in Crown Heights at the beginning of next week), encompassing all five Chumoshim. Word from the publishers (“Machon Lehafotzas Toraso Shel Moshiach”, or The Institute for spreading Moshiach’s Torah”) is that future volumes are currently in progress, which will include Maamorim for the Yomim Toivim (Pesach, Sefirah, Shavuos, Yud-Beis Tamuz etc.) and are due to be released shortly.

Some highlights of the new set include: New Maamorim that have never yet been published (mostly from the Chofs, which for various reasons have not yet been included in the various sets of Maamorim printed by years), complete retyping of all the Maamorim with additional references and footnotes, as well as opening most of the Roshei Teivos for easier learning, and inclusion of unedited versions of the Muge’dik Maamorim which many times include details and expressions which are missing from the official Muge version. At the end of each volume is an index of Inyonei Geulah Umoshiach which appear in that volume, as well as facsimiles of the Rebbe’s handwriting on several of the Maamorim, and more.

The Seforim are available for purchase in 770 and in local bookstores in Crown Heights. For details please call the Institute at: 718-560-3770, or by email:[email protected]
