The Rebbe referred several times to Oholei Torah as a Mossad of Lechatchila Ariber. The eighth grade launched a campaign that encourages each Talmid to strive to go above and beyond his current status in all aspects of learning, davening and Chassidishkeit.
Rabbi Chaim Yisroel Wilhelm, Menahel of the Eighth Grade Division, designed this campaign to concentrate on five specific details – Shmiras Hazman, improvement in grades, enhancement in behavior in class, personal growth, and a weekly Duch in which each Talmid evaluates himself to measure his improvement and growth.
This Mivtza is being sponsored and dedicated in memory of Habachur Hatomim Shmuel a”h Karnowsky. Shmuel was a beloved talmid of Oholei Torah, who excelled in his learning, Davening and attendance. He was a Talmid that was very well liked by his friends and always joined the extra-curricular activities with excitement and Chayus, with a beautiful smile for everyone.
Rabbi Yossi Bryski, OTEG director, says that after the challenges of last year this campaign is exactly what the Talmidim need, and is already producing results which are felt throughout the entire division.
Talmidim who partake and excel in this campaign will participate in a two-day trip to beautiful grounds and outstanding lodging with many winter activities in upstate New York. The eighth grade Shluchim will join the trip, ensuring it to be a fun-filled outing.
