Six years ago, on 10 Tammuz, young Shlucha Moussia Zaltzman A”H,  daughter of Rabbi Zalman and Perla Zaltzman, Shluchim to Niagara Falls, Canada, passed away tragically at at the age of six years old. In honor of her sixth yahrtzeit, local author and illustrator Rebbeca Shapiro released a children’s book dedicated in her memory.

The book, titled “It’s Not Over When We Say Goodbye”, explains the grief process to little children through the lens of a faith based, Torah perspective.

Moussia was a shining light both in her parents’ community, as well as in her school, the Hamilton Hebrew Academy. She left a mark on all who she knew, and because of this, the project received overwhelming support from members of the local Niagara and Hamilton, Ontario communities.

At a gathering held this past Sunday for her yahrtzeit, a proof of the book was read to the children in attendance.

“Anyone who knew [Moussia] knows it’s almost and impossible task”, wrote Mrs. Shapiro in a Facebook post, “She was larger than life. I am so grateful to be a part of helping Moussia’s life continue to be a part of this world…”

The book will soon be released for purchase.
