Chabad Chayil in Miami has received a full set of permits by Miami-Dade County to build a new-five story building.
The entire building project is estimated to cost approximately $10 million, with construction costing $8 million.
The facility, which will be located in the North Miami-Dade neighborhood of Highland Lakes, is expected to consist of more than 36,000 square feet of indoor space and 10,000 square feet for a rooftop park and terraces. It will house the Chabad center’s Community Hebrew After-School Program, CKids, CTeen, GROW Enrichment, Hebrew School, Dovid Bryn Library and the Family Shul. The building will include 14 regular classrooms, two specialty classrooms, adult and children’s libraries, an indoor playground, jungle gym, social hall and rooftop park.
“The entire community has been waiting for this for such a long time,” said Rabbi Moishe Kievman, co-director of the Chabad center. “We are all thrilled that it’s now becoming a reality. We hope to welcome everyone to the new building in around 13 months.”
