For over 10 years Chabad of Bushwick led by Rabbi and Rebbetzin Heller built a diverse Jewish community from all backgrounds, ages and nationalities.
Chabad of Bushwick’s work of strengthening Jewish heritage and identity – in a positive and an inclusive atmosphere – unites its community. Over the years Chabad of Bushwick became a home for its many members and visitors.
During this past Shabbat meal – in an apparent hate crime attack – two attackers vandalized the Chabad house’s window. Miraculously, the Rabbi’s family and the community’s members – including young children – which were near the window weren’t hurt from the shattered glass.
While there are dark forces out there trying to fright us, the Jewish community of Bushwick will not be intimated. We are determined to stand strong against hate, and to further help increase Chabad of Bushwick’s incredible work of spreading the light.
The proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards increasing the activities of Chabad of Bushwick, and towards renovating the Chabad House – including security enhancements – so it can be a beautiful and a safe home for the Jewish community of Bushwick.
All proceeds from this campaign will go directly to Chabad of Bushwick and will be tax deductible.
This campaign is being organized by former students of Rabbi Heller.
