Bochurim of Queens Yeshivah Honored

This past Sunday, over 65 bochurim of the Queens Yeshivah, attended a grand banquet and Chinese auction, honoring them for their efforts in the Mivtza during the month leading up to Yud Alef Nissan and throughout Bein Hazmanim • Full Article, Photos

The Mivtza entailed learning selected letters and Sichos of the Rebbe as a present for Yud Alef Nissan and setting aside time for learning and acting in a Chassidishe manner during Bein Hazmanim.

The more a Bochur did and learnt, earned him more dollars which he was able to use to buy tickets for the Chinese auction.

Following the afternoon Seder they eagerly loaded the buses, heading out to the beautifully set up hall of the Utopia Jewish Center of Queens. As they came in, they viewed the prizes and purchased their tickets, after which they sat down for a Seudah.

The Menahel of Yeshiva, Rabbi Mendel Scharf, addressed the Bochurim and praised them for their hard work during Bein Hazmanim, saying how many parents thanked the Yeshiva for the Mivtza after seeing how their sons spent their time during Bein Hazmanim.

Moshe Aharon Goldstein, a Bochur in Yeshiva, then thanked the Shluchim for arranging the Mivtza and for all their hard work they put into the Bochurim throughout the year.

After which, excitement filled the room as Rabbi Yisroel Lipsker, Mashpia in Yeshiva, was asked to draw the first raffle. The prizes ranged from Kuntres “Ve’ato Tetzaveh” from the Rebbe to a set of Likkutei Sichos; from 2 Rebbe dollars to a bike; a piece of leather from the Rebbe’s Shtender to MP3s, speakers and much more.

After Bentching led by Hatomim Mendel Hakohen Rodal (the bochur who earned the most points of the entire yeshiva), the Bochurim were pleasantly surprised when they each received their very own SIE HaYom Yom as a Teshura.

The banquet concluded with a grand Farbrengen led by Rabbi Yossi Engel, Shliach in Adelaide, Australia.
