More than 450 Chabad educators have arrived from across Eretz Yisroel to participate in the annual three-day Kinus HaMechanchim in the Nir Etzion Hotel, south of Haifa.
Rabbi Naftali Roth, director of the Kinus, together with his son Rabbi Noam Roth, welcomed the participants who traveled from near and far. Rabbi Meir Ashkenazi Mara D’Asra of Kfar Chabad addressed those gathered with a speech about the upcoming Shemita year and its connection to the upcoming year of shmitah.
The professionally planed kinus features lectures and workshops from experienced educators and professionals, teaching and inspiring those gathered.
While the mechanchim ate an exquisite lunch, a siyum was held by Rabbi Shlomo Mamane who concluded a masechta, in accordance with the Rebbe’s instruction to hold siyumim in this time period.
A fascinating panel discussion entitled “Stop – Think – Decide” was presented by experts Rabbi Avraham Zohar, Rabbi Shalom Kaminer, Prof. Farraj Dahr, and Rabbi Israel Springer.
Afterwards, the educators divided into smaller groups for more topic specific workshops. Among the many talented presenters were Rabbi Chaim Moskowitz, who gave practical tools for creating a safe and optimal educational environment, Rabbi Malkiel Avraham who addressed the challenges of teaching Gemara and Rabbi Levi Naparstek who offered solutions for improving reading at any age.
The mechanchim then gathered to pose for the massive group photo, simultaneously singing the song “Shluchei Adoneinu…”
