Dear Shliach of the Rebbe MH”M,
In normal times, all of us, shluchim of the Rebbe, would be making our preparations for the Kinus HaShluchim, to strengthen and be strengthened, to meet our fellow shluchim, to draw renewed energies from our holy home base, and mainly, to discuss what to do and how to complete the avodas ha’shlichus of preparing the world to welcome Moshiach.
This year, if (G-d forbid) Moshiach will be delayed, most of the shluchim will be unable to personally attend the kinus. However, as the Baal Shem Tov taught, “where a man’s thoughts are, that is where he is,” so we will all merit, this year too, to attend the Kinus HaShluchim. This will be by participating in events broadcast live from Crown Heights and 770.
The rabbanim of Crown Heights, members of the Badatz, have made it clear on a number of occasions recently, that we must all obey the doctors’ instructions, no exceptions and no kuntzen.
In the most recent update of the doctors regarding outside visitors to the shechuna, they allowed those who were sick with corona and recovered or those who were tested and found to have antibodies to come here.
We know how precious the Kinus HaShluchim is to the Rebbe and how dear the assembling of his shluchim at the kinus, and it is clear that this year too, the Rebbe wants all those who are able to attend, to do so.
Therefore, we ask those who meet the criteria to take the opportunity – the privilege and obligation – to personally take part in the Kinus HaShluchim 5781 and represent the shluchim from all over the world, those who cannot personally participate in the kinus.
The shluchim who meet the criteria set by the doctors, will be able to participate – first and foremost – at the opening farbrengen of the kinus on Shabbos Mevorchim Kislev. Likewise, the kinus committee will provide all the rest of the programming for them, as every year, starting on Wednesday afternoon until after the banquet which will take place, G-d willing, in 770 on Sunday, 28 Cheshvan, at 12:00 in the afternoon, New York time (7:00 in the evening, Israeli time).
