Tonight marks ninety days before the Rebbe MH”M’s birthday on Yud Alef Nissan. In preparation for this significant day, many Shluchim around the world are preparing to do something special in honor of the Rebbe.
It was 1978, exactly 40 years ago, that the President of the United States, Jimmy Carter, issued the first proclamation “Education Day, USA”.
Since then, Presidents; Ronald Reagan, George Bush, William J. Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Donald J. Trump have all issued this proclamation.
In 1992, the proclamation by President George Bush was issued for “Education and Sharing Day, USA”, and that was the proclamation every year since.
Last year, many Shluchim took this initiative to State and local levels across the United States. Many governors across the country, as well as mayors and other dignitaries, signed proclamations in honor of the Rebbe.
This year, the 40th anniversary of “Education Day USA”, it is appropriate for Shluchim to work on all levels to have every city, county and state where there is a Shliach, issue their own proclamation honoring the Rebbe and marking the Rebbe’s birthday as “Education and Sharing Day”.
