Yesterday, Thursday, a panel of seasoned Ba’alei Menagnim got together to choose the Nigun for Kapitel 115 in Tehillim, in honor of the Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach’s birthday. For several hours, R’ Shneor Zalman Baumgarten, R’ Shalom Horowitz and R’ Mendel Schneorson convened and listened attentively to 49 (!) Yesterday, Thursday, a panel of seasoned Ba’alei Menagnim got together to choose the Nigun for Kapitel 115 in Tehillim, in honor of the Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach’s birthday. For several hours, R’ Shneor Zalman Baumgarten, R’ Shalom Horowitz and R’ Mendel Schneorson convened and listened attentively to 49 (!) Nigunim submitted by Chasidim from around the globe.
The Nigun chosen, was the one composed by R’ Avrohom Charitonow of Crown Heights. A descendant of the illustrious family of Ba’alei Menagnim of Nikolayev, who composed many famous Chabad Niggunim, including the Beinuni.
ChabadInfo.com was informed that the decision was particularly difficult this year, due to the great investment of the various Ba’alei Menagnim who put in much effort and composed very succesful Chassidishe Nigunim.
The members of the “Lubavitch Nigunim committee” would like to thank all the Ba’alei Menagnim who submitted their compositions in honor of the Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach, and also to R’ Mendel Levin and R’ Menachem Mendel Levkivkerwho tirelessly arranged the committee, and hope that this will bring on the “New Song” in the true and complete redemption speedily in our days.
