Last week, the Department of Health closed the kitchen of 1414, the main dining room for all the Bochurim studying in 770, the central Yeshivas Tomchei T’mimim.

As a temporary solution, meals were served in ‘Getzel’s shul’, in the basement of 1414. However only breakfast and supper were being served, with no lunch options.

This Monday, inspectors from the Health Department arrived and closed the kitchen, preventing it from serving meals.

According to sources from the Yeshiva, Monday lunch and supper was not served and the Bochrim did not receive a satisfactory response as to the situation.

Despite various promises from the management that the matter would be settled, the Bochrim were left without proper meals.

One of the Bochrim who turned to a Hanholo member last night received this response: “It will be possible to eat at the Farbrengen, which was organized in 770 in honor of Beis Iyar.”
