Chilean Philanthropist Leonardo Farkas will inaugurate five Sifrei Torah that he funded, on the eve of the International Kinus Hashluchim, which will commence on Wednesday, November 4th.
The Torahs were written in honor of the Rebbe, and will benefit Shluchim worldwide. A large Hachnosas Sefer Torah celebration is planned for the five Sifrei Torah.
The event though larger, reminds many of a similar celebration two years ago, just before the Kinus Hashluchim of 5774, when the same philanthropist sponsored four Sifrei Torah in a historic one-of-a-kind event widely celebrated and lauded by the Lubavitch community.
After the celebrations, one of the Torahs will reside in 770, while the others will join Chabad communities around the world on a needs basis.
The Torah that will reside in 770 will begin its journey in the small Zal upstairs of 770, where the writing will be completed, after which all the Torahs will join for a massive hakafos celebration in the large Shul downstairs of 770.
The event will mark the commencement of the Kinus Hashluchim.
