Inflation is all anyone can talk about these days. All of a sudden, groceries are more expensive and gas prices have gone through the roof. Rising costs are all around us.

Amid all this concern and the ensuing cutbacks, there’s one organization that cannot afford to hedge operations in any way—Hatzalah of Crown Heights. When it comes to their life-saving services, the coordinators at Hatzalah have never entertained the option of cutting back, maintaining and only enhancing Hatzalah’s impeccably professional level of service.

When rushing to a patient and gauging what equipment, gear, and/or medications will be needed, money indeed is never a factor. Whether it’s making use of costly advanced life support equipment, administering any and all medications allowed in New York State, or driving greater distances to the appropriate hospital, Hatzalah never considers the cost. Whatever it takes to bring the best possible treatment is the only option.

Just think about how much gas it takes to operate five ambulances driving around all day, sometimes great distances!

What enables this premium level of care?

It is the generosity of the community, of course. With the continued support of the members of the Crown Heights and wider Anash community, funds have Baruch Hashem always been available to do the utmost to ensure any patient receives any and all available resources for healing.

In what has become an annual tradition, this week leading up to Lag Baomer, Hatzalah is staging a week-long fundraising campaign to raise $770,000. This funding will go towards the ongoing costs of medical equipment, medications, training, insurance and daily operations.

Fortunately, Baruch Hashem, many are unfamiliar with the full gamut of Hatzalah’s services. A routine visit of one member to a family home with just his backpack may not seem very extensive, but there’s far more that goes on behind it. To bring one illustration, Hatzalah fields five ambulances, each one equipped with Advanced Life Support—a unique level of sophistication for a relatively smaller neighborhood operation.

How is Hatzalah able to keep their ambulances so updated with all the bells and whistles? How are they able to maintain all their sophisticated gear and a professional-grade level of dispatch, communications, and whatever equipment they need on the ground?

It is because of you! As a quintessential grassroots organization, Crown Heights Hatzalah exists only and entirely on the backs of the people it serves.

This week leading up to Lag Baomer, help them help you.
